CT Green Building Council Volunteer Coordinator
Rocky Hill, CT
GRThe Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC) seeks a volunteer to coordinate its volunteer recruitment and retention efforts. Volunteers are essential to our growing organization, which currently has 600 members. The CTGBC needs a point person to match volunteers to their interests and the organization’s needs. The responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator include:
Develop and implement strategies and procedures to recruit and retain volunteers, in consultation with Board liaison
Solicit volunteer job descriptions from committees and the Board of Directors
Match volunteers with volunteer opportunities
Develop volunteer recognition programs
Create and maintain a roster of active and inactive volunteers
Track volunteer hours
Submit written summary of activities to the Board of Directors monthly
The time commitment is one year, with an estimated 6 - 8 hours per month required. This is a new position.

Chief Sustainability Officer

Field Service Engineer

Position Overview:
Field service commissioning engineers are responsible for the accurate and timely customer site installation and service of Singulus equipment (solar product lines).
Responsibilities:
In conjunction with sales and support staff, communicate all requirements in preparation for the installation of solar products at the customer site. Preparation is to include identification of all utilities, machine layout and spacing requirements.
Independently install all Singulus Solar product lines at customer sites. This includes the identification of all parts upon product receipt at customer site, product set up and installation, testing, debugging, conducting performance acceptance testing and product demonstration operation to customer technical staff.
All product installations must be conducted in a timely manner to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and profit maximization for Singulus.
Provide technical telephone support to customers to identify service requirements. Must be able to respond accurately and timely to customer with on- site service needs when telephone assistance is not sufficient.
Train customer technical staff on all service requirements of purchased product lines and all product upgrades and retrofits. All training is to be conducted in a thorough and timely manner to ensure customer confidence and reliability in Singulus technical support.
Coordinate all installation and service requirements with other vendor technical staff and customer technical staff.
Accurately and timely complete all job service reports including associated time and expenses.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering (or relevant Engineering degree with specific experience in solar cell or silicon wafer manufacturing)
Experience Required:
2+ years in solar industry. Some experience with solar related capital equipment is strongly preferred.

Job Description:
Siemens Industry is seeking an Energy Engineer for our Cromwell, CT office with strong communication skills to interface with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other professionals. We are currently looking for qualified candidates with experience conducting comprehensive energy audits, design and project development, and implementation of energy conservation projects. In this position, you will utilize your technical experience in energy and controls engineering for industrial facilities. The successful candidate will be expected to independently conduct energy audits, identify energy saving opportunities, collect data, perform savings analysis, develop costs and prepare audit reports containing recommended scope of work for energy efficiency improvements. This person will also coordinate the overall design effort associated with those major energy improvements.
Engineering Responsibilities:
Site surveying of energy management system, HVAC, fan and pumping systems, compressed air system, chillers, boilers, waste heat recovery system, refrigeration, building envelope analysis and other commercial/industrial equipment. This includes data collection, equipment and operational reviews.
Develop energy analyses including recommendations for operational efficiencies and identifying energy savings opportunities.
Prepare comprehensive Energy Audit/Analysis reports outlining efficiency recommendations, project costs, energy savings, and simple payback.
Prepare schematic design documents and specifications for energy projects to be implemented.
Assist Proposal Engineer and Project Manager with project costing and implementation strategy.
Provide technical support to Sales and other team members to close sales on proposed projects.
Respond to questions and concerns from customers, contractors and other technical service providers about the audit, development and other energy projects.
Share the technical knowledge and experience with junior engineering staff and non-technical employees through formal and informal mentoring and internal training.
Delivery Responsibilities:
Ensure smooth transition between preliminary audit, project development and implementation.
Provide reports, studies, engineering designs and other required deliverables on time.
Assist Project Manager to deliver project on time and within budgeted cost.
Ensure customer satisfaction at every level of project implementation.
Qualifications:
BSME preferred degree, or BSEE
PE and/or CEM is a plus
7+ years experience in energy engineering role as described above
5+ years experience in energy project construction
Knowledge of the latest local and state energy design standards and codes (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, LEED, etc.)
Knowledge in the local, state, federal and utilities incentive programs.
Experience with measurement and verification strategy development and implementation.
Knowledge of Siemens solutions and equipment a plus.
Experience in Glass, Plastics, Food & Beverage, Paper, Cement, and Water Industries a plus.
Excellent technical writing and verbal communications.
Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.)
30% Travel required.
