Nine Connecticut Green Stories

AuctorVerno, LLC, developers of buildingctgreen.com, have announced the 2006 CTGreen9 awards recognizing Connecticut’s sustainability achievements. The green building/green business marketing services firm sought nine Connecticut green stories for 2006 and asked a panel of three business and opinion leaders to provide third-party validation. The entries were reviewed by, Hartford developer Adam Cloud of The Cloud Company; Gene Sheehan, president, Sullivan and LeShane Public Relations; and Carolyn Howe, a Yale senior majoring in Engineering Sciences (Environmental) and Mechanical Engineering who is also the 2006 Morris K. Udall Scholar and was a 2004 and 2005 Environmental Studies Fellow at Yale. Stories are in no particular order.
Green Manufacturing
Sustainability drives Curtis Packaging of Sandy Hook (Newtown), CT.

Curtis Packaging is a leader in the printing and packaging industry and is committed to aligning their business practices with care for the environment. In 2006, this company entered into a contract to purchase renewable energy which is equivalent to 100% of their energy usage. Burton/Shenkman first building at UCONN registered for LEED certification.
