Technician

Spectra Energy is looking for a Technician to work at our Oxford, CT location.

The Technician (EC) position is a training and development position in the Technician Job Family. Under close supervision by the Area Superintendent or Supervisor, the incumbent is trained in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of pipeline facilities relative to the assigned discipline(s). The incumbent receives technical direction from the Area technicians and the Division technical staff and works closely with pipeline/plant personnel, technicians in the same or other discipline and contract personnel.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school or equivalent education, plus a two-year Associate Degree in an appropriate technical field or equivalent training. One to four years of work experience applicable to this discipline is preferred. Successful applicant must be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Oxford location.

Principal Engineer

The Metropolitan District Commission, Hartford, CT

Description:

The duties require considerable knowledge, skill and ability in public works engineering as applied to utility construction and maintenance projects; thorough knowledge of civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering principles and practices as applied to utility systems; and thorough knowledge of design standards and regulatory codes established by the District Board and/or state and federal agencies. It also requires proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) drafting, modeling, and related computer applications. Classification typically reports to a Division Manager.

Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or electrical engineering, or closely related field; supplemented by six (6) years of progressively responsible engineering design and/or project management experience for municipal utilities or public works; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineering license, or have the ability to acquire such a license by reciprocity within ninety (90) days of hire. Must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut driver’s license.
